Clare Boothe Luce, Republican Congresswoman from the state of Connecticut, (reelected by slim margin of 2,000 votes) seems to be injecting the underlying psychology of her successful play, “The Women,” into her life as representative of the people. For what woman or man for that matter could, with such veneer and deceit, set about disrupting the peace between our Allies as did the privileged Mrs. Boothe last week on radio and in the press.
Mrs. Boothe, who has just returned from the battlefronts and who has seen with her own pretty little eyes the unspeakable horror of the German concentration camps, immediately upon return set about branding Premier Stalin and his government as murderers and thieves.
The dear lady would have the American Nation believe that Russia will continue the terror and bloodshed of Hitler in eastern Europe—that Russia will fight any and all nations who try to interfere.
HATE AND PEACE
The amazing thing about Mrs. Luce and her cohorts is the fact that they start their hate campaign while American boys are still dying on far-flung battlefronts and the nations of the world are in session trying to straighten out their differences and lay a foundation for stable and lasting world peace.
Could it be that Mrs. Luce fears Russia and her policy of “the brotherhood of man” to the extent that she is willing to initiate a third World War in order that she may hang on to the wealth which she and her publisher-husband, (Time-Life-Fortune) have ammassed [sic]? Whatever the lady’s underlying motives for the vicious attacks on Russia and its gallant Premier and Army, the fact remains that such talk is loaded with dynamite, and if allowed to go unchallenged, will take hold among certain of our fascist-minded citizens to the ultimate sorrow of the people who are called upon to make the sacrifices and do the dying.
WHOSE HARP DIES?
It is about time that our elected representatives stop acting in an irresponsible manner and stop using their positions to further their personal desires and beliefs. Clare Boothe Luce should remember that she was sent to Congress to represent the best interests of the people of the United States and not the wealthy few. If the mothers, sisters, wives and sweethearts of the fighting men of this nation would make known to Mrs. Luce their displeasure at her constant vicious attacks upon our Allies, perhaps she will leave military and diplomatic affairs to those best qualified to handle them.
WATCH RED HATERS
A good thing to remember at all times when listening to these various people (and there are many) who get so upset about the slightest move Russia makes, is that you will always find them to be first of all, people who opposed our late President and his plans for a better world for the little people. Mrs. Luce wants us little folks to stay put and she feels that if Russia is allowed to act freely, that “New World” might materialize for us much more quickly than would be comfortable for her.
The Gods of fate are at work. [sic] Clare, and I’m afraid with all of your lies and schemes, us little folks are on the march and it will take more than your pretty blonde head to stop us.
FEPC IS IN DANGER; ASK THE PRESIDENT AND SENATORS TO SAVE IT
